Spring is for photo sessions

Each season has it's ups and downs. Winter has Christmas, snowmen, and hot chocolate but it also has wind, cold, and treachous driving conditions. Summer days can be spent in the pool but when you have to attend your family reunion in 95 degree heat with 100% humidity, not as much fun.
And when choosing the perfect time to have your photos taken, seasons play a role. There are pros and cons to each. Spring, just happens to have quite a few pros. So take a look at the list below and think about getting your session on the books.
Flowers! Greenery! Not much else needs to be said here, the world is waking again and it's puttig on a spectacular show.
Sunset time. This is a big one. I always recommend to my clients that photo sessions take place about one to 1.5 hours before sunset. The lighting is the most flattering and you just can't beat a gorgeous sunset in the background. A session in winter means that we'll be starting around 3 during the darkest days. A session in summer could mean a 7:30pm session. And if you have little ones that get sleepy past bedtime, that could mean foul moods and grouchy faces. But spring and fall are the perfect time as sunset isn't too early and not too late.
3. Temprature. This doesn't need much explaining either if you've experienced a Virginia summer. Spring gets rid of those winter chills but it's not hot enough that you're glistening with sweat.
4. Outfits. Time to shred those long johns and winter coats and slip on that flowy, strappy summer dress. Photos in the snow are beautiful but dresses and skirts provide movement that is too die for.
